It's Divisional Championship weekend, and while neither of my teams are in the playoffs, I still LOVE football. I will admit, I will be cheering heavily for the NFC Champion, and I could really care less as to who that is. I just pray they beat whichever AFC opponent they meet in Dallas. I despise the Steelers because 1. they're in the Bengals division and 2. because Ben is a pig! :) I don't like the Jets because Rex Ryan is just plain obnoxious and because of him and his huge mouth, Cade couldn't watch Hard Knocks! So I'm now a huge fan of either Aaron Rogers or Julius Peppers! Go NFC!
I'm sure it's no shock or surprise to any of you that I'm more a tomboy than girly girl. I've always liked sports! I played QB in the 4th grade, I went to PSU games with Dad when I was little, and I could care less what weather I had to sit in. I was yelled at numerous times while cheerleading because I was turned around watching the action. I LOVE football. I have to be in the stadium before the team runs out on the field! I get goosebumps when the pregame video comes on and the music blares. There is nothing like the opening kickoff. Jeans, sweatshirts, a cool breeze, a sunny day, the smells of tailgating, and the sounds of the band and cannon are some of my favorite things.
It's kinda crazy that before I even knew Eric, I had said that the next guy I dated was going to be a football player. You can imagine my surprise when I found out that the guy I sat next to in a college class was #46! Some of my fondest memories were cheering him on at Carnie Smith Stadium and then going out afterwards with Gary and Laurie. And now I get a front row seat watching my mini-Eric's pulling flags, throwing TD passes, and trotting into the endzone. I've already told Eric that we will be those people that sit in the same spot for years at every game at Hutch Field and they'll know when we aren't there. With 4 boys, we better begin investing in comfy stadium seats, rain gear, blankets, and winter coats! But no matter how cold it is, or if it's pouring down rain, sleet, or snow, you can bet I'll be there in the stands cheering on my boys!
And I have to admit that 14 years later, I still think my #46 is pretty HOT! Let's face it, football players are kinda nice to look at too! Who's ready for Kick-Off???
LOVE THE BLOG!!! While this post was mostly in a foreign language to me, it was sweet none the less. I am impressed! Look forward to many more posts :)
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the blog! I can totally relate to your post as I too hate the Steelers! I can't wait to read your post after the Super Bowl. Hopefully, it will be a nice post and not a Rex Ryan, Hard Knocks type of post. :)
